Who am I ?
I grew up in a family where both my parents were engineers, so technology was always a big part of my life. From an early age, I was surrounded by gadgets, computers, and all sorts of technical conversations at the dinner table. Naturally, I got really interested in tech and spent a lot of time exploring it. But unlike my parents, who pursued engineering, I found myself drawn to the world of medicine. Now, as a med student, I carry that deep-rooted love for technology with me, blending it into my medical journey.

Facts about me!
I’m Alireza, a Persian medical student currently studying at Ankara University in Turkey
. As a first-year MD candidate, I’m laying the groundwork for my long-term goal: building a meaningful medical career in the United States. I speak Persian, English, and Turkish fluently, which allows me to connect across cultures and communities—something I deeply value both in life and medicine.
Â
Raised in a household of engineers, I grew up immersed in technology. That environment nurtured a lifelong fascination with tech and productivity tools, even as I chose to pursue the human side of science through medicine. I’m passionate about integrating both worlds—medicine and technology—in a way that enhances learning, health, and personal growth.
Â
Beyond academics, I stay active through swimming and strength training, and I’m currently working on improving my overall fitness and physical discipline.I share thoughts on tech, productivity, and growth on my website akafi.com, where I aim to inspire and connect with others on a similar journey. I believe in crafting a life with intention—one that merges intellectual ambition with emotional clarity and creative curiosity.

Why are we here? What are we doing here?
Over the past couple of years, I’ve undergone a profound transformation—driven by migration, cultural adaptation, and the challenges of entering medical school. I’m no longer the person I was. The path hasn’t been easy. Learning new languages, adapting to new systems, and rebuilding my sense of identity from the ground up has tested me in ways I couldn’t have imagined.
But through all of it, I’ve learned something essential: growth demands discomfort. Not every challenge ended in victory—but every experience taught me something valuable. I’ve come to understand that we’re capable of more than we give ourselves credit for, and life offers more depth, meaning, and opportunity than we often realize.
I believe we’re here to learn, evolve, and build—both internally and in the world around us. That belief is what drives this website. Here, I document what I learn on my journey through medicine, explore how technology can enhance our lives, and share practical tools for productivity and growth. If you’re someone who’s curious, ambitious, and serious about making progress—in your mind, your systems, or your future—you’ll find something valuable here.
